Welcome to Capshaw Middle School!
Capshaw Middle School offers a rigorous program of study to 7th and 8th grade middle school students. Students who desire to tackle challenging course work have an opportunity to enroll in three courses that offer high school credit: Algebra 1, Geometry, and 9th Grade English.
In addition to advanced coursework, Capshaw students have an opportunity to participate in a wide range of music classes: Band, Advanced Band, Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, Choir, and guitar are offered year round.
Extracurricular activities and athletics provide additional opportunities for students to explore their interests. Extracurricular activities offered this year include the following: Battle of the Books, Chess Club, First Serve Tennis/Tutoring, Geography Bee, Growing Up Thinking Scientifically (GUTS), Math, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA), National Junior Honor Society, Natural Helpers Club, Mariachi Club, Science Fair Participation, Spanish Club, Spelling Bee, and the Yearbook Club. Athletic opportunities are offered in the following sports: football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and track.
At the start of the 2016-2017 school year all Capshaw students were issued laptops to promote our district's goal of graduating digitally literate students. Our technology initiatives, coupled with an exemplary teaching and support staff, provide an outstanding educational experience for our students.
